'Tis The Season - A Wedding Edit

So I’m hearing that 2022 is a boom year for weddings! Biggest since 1984! I have a hard time deciding what to wear to weddings, and it gets harder the older I get. Not sure why?! Probably because it’s harder to rock sky high heels or sleeveless looks.

And this year, we have no weddings to attend - odd?!

Lots of pretty things are trending for the wedding guest - florals, ruffles, jumpsuits and midi/maxi dresses, and unlined lacy sleeves (so elegant)…

I am not a fan of cutouts for formal wear (I don’t want a side roll popping out during dinner), nor plunging necklines ala Real Housewives of Wherever (usually senior lady cleavage is not attractive on the masses).

But having said that, there is plenty to choose from if you are wedding bound. I have been working on this wedding attire edit, and have tried to include all levels of price, formality and styles. I have included some jewelry and shoes, with the dresses. Some of these would be great for MOB or MOG or a special Great Auntie!

At the bottom of the post, there is also a link to a great wedding attire post from Cindy Hattersley last week. It includes some great two piece looks, especially for less formal weddings. If you are not familiar with her blog or missed the post, scroll down.

Less Formal or Outdoor LOOKS…

*Most of us would need to tack the neckline together about 3-4 inches. I do it all the time - I’ve done it on swimsuits!!

More Formal Looks…

Note…while there are several long dresses (I am drawn to them, due to my not so great legs), you can sometimes have them hemmed to midi or knee length, or even a high-low hem…

If you are 5’5” or less, it’s not a mini on you! If you have nice legs, this is so fun!

*Wear these overlay pants with a white blouse - perfect! Pricey but gorgeous and never go out of style.

*Ditch the crown and tie it tighter and it’s very pretty.

This also looks super with a white blouse tied at the waist, or with a cool belt.

And check out Cindy Hattersley’s recent post on wedding attire that features more casual looks!
